Hi I’m Barb! I’ve been training authors on technical issues since 2010 and teaching since 1986. I have a lot of experience breaking down and explaining technical subjects to non-technical people.
I’m an author of 27 books that help authors with the technical issues they face when marketing their books. It seems that I’m always at my computer with a cup of coffee by my side – hence the picture!

I work hard to help authors understand what they need to learn. Or at the very least, understand enough to hire competent help and manage the work in a knowledgeable fashion.
I’m realistic enough to see that not every author wants to do all the technical tasks involved in modern book promotion. Many writers that I work with are creative people, not technical people. However, since authors have become a cottage industry and people are lining up to take their money, I feel that authors need to be knowledgeable enough to make intelligent decisions. Not hand their hard-earned money over to someone who is unethical or who doesn’t know what they are doing.
That’s the reason for the courses. That’s the reason for my books. And that’s the reason that I spend so much time helping authors understand the world that they are entering.
When it comes to social media, blogging, book marketing, etc. there is a lot of misinformation and there is a lot of information that is either not applicable to authors, or just too technical. That’s where the courses come in. I do the searching for applicable information that is relevant to authors and I share it at a level that is understandable by beginners.
